Career Development 

The Options program is focused on helping Urban Impact students transition through and from high school. Open to juniors and seniors, the Options program seeks to ensure that students launch successfully into one of five postsecondary tracks, providing mentorship and assistance throughout the process.

Career Development Class with CCAC

Freshmen – Seniors
Fall/Winter/Spring – Day & Time TBD FREE, Registration Required; Preference given to students enrolled in another UIF program

For eight weeks each semester, Options partners with Community College of Allegheny County to give students the opportunity to earn college credit and prepare for the workforce. Using The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, students learn the importance of the habits that can help them be successful in the global marketplace. In addition to classroom instruction, students have the opportunity to interview professionals in careers that interest them.

Options Coaching

UIF Juniors and Seniors
Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer By Appointment FREE, Registration Required; Must be enrolled in another UIF program

If you are a high school junior or senior and have participated in UIF programs in the past, you are eligible to be enrolled in the Options program! Students are paired with UIF staff and volunteer mentors to help navigate the post-high school planning and preparations processes and identify an Options track – college, trade school, job, military, or ministry

Job, Inc.

Freshmen – Seniors
Fall/Winter/Spring – Varies by work schedule
Career Development is a prerequisite Must be enrolled in another UIF program

Beginner paid job opportunity for students at Urban Impact. Applications are accepted in September and January. 10 hours per week.
