Intro to Dance for Boys

1st-5th Grade
Fall/Spring, Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm

In this foundational course, students learn the fundamentals of dance while developing strength, flexibility, and proper body alignment. This fun, energetic class is geared towards our younger male students who aspire to dance and explore different dance genres and techniques.

Intro to Ballet

Introductory | All ages

In this foundational course, students learn both technical and improvisational movement. By learning the five positions of ballet, our youngest ballerinas practice the art of balance and control. Instructors emphasize the basics of the ballet barre, ballet turns, choreography, discipline, and teamwork throughout the curriculum.

Intermediate Ballet 102

All ages | Ballet 101/201 prerequisite Fall/Spring, Thursdays 4:30pm-6:00pm

Students will be placed in this course based on the skills they have mastered in Ballet 101. In this higher-level course, students build upon their technical knowledge and improvisational movement. By expanding upon the five positions of ballet, our ballerinas advance in their knowledge and skills as dancers.

Advanced Ballet 103

3rd-7th Grade | Ballet 102/202 prerequisite Fall/Spring, Thursdays, 4:30pm-6:00pm $30 course cost, $60 non-resident**

Advanced Ballet 203

This course builds upon the foundations of ballet, advancing both technique and artistry. Students will learn to coordinate foot, arm, and head positions as individual steps are put together into combinations. Instructors emphasize building upon basic techniques of body control, balance, and musicality to learn jumps, turns, and advanced footwork. Ballet vocabulary will be expanded.

Mime 201

4th-7th Grade
Fall/Spring, Thursdays
6:30pm-8:00pm

Ballet 101, Boy’s Dance 101, or previous Mime class prerequisite

Throughout this course, beginning and intermediate mime students learn how to convey the gospel message through a combination of expressive dancing, gestures, and body movements without the use of words.

Mime 202

8th-12th grade
Fall and Spring, Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30pm-6:00pm

Intermediate Mime students will expand their knowledge and skill of how to convey the gospel message through expressive dancing, gestures, and body movement while learning choreography and how to minister to others through dance.

Praise Dance 102

All ages
Fall/Spring, Thursdays 4:30pm-6:00pm
$30 course cost, $60 non-resident ** Prerequisite: Ballet 101 or previous Praise Dance

Beginning and intermediate Praise Dance students
learn how to work with fan veils and use their bodies and motion range to worship God through dance.
A few of the skills our instructors emphasize include teamwork, formations, routine memorization, and loving relationships.

Hip Hop 201

6th-12th grade
Fall and Spring
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30pm-6:00pm

Students learn the basics of hip-hop through choreography, hard work and an understanding of the background of hip-hop music and dance. Students will also learn proper dance etiquette and how to use their bodies to worship God through dance and culture.

Urban Impact Dance Team

Middle School/High School

This advanced group works throughout the year to perfect their dancing skills. Focus is given to proper technique in ballet as well as exploring other forms of contemporary and lyrical dance. The program cultivates excellence in both the art of dance and worship.

Creative Movement 101

Pre-K to Kindergarten | Introductory Fall/Spring, TBD

Creative Movement is a class designed to introduce students to basic concepts of rhythm and movement while expanding their individual creativity. Children will discover the joy of movement as they develop body awareness through games, stretches, and beginning dance elements.
