without a script as they create a scene and story by developing characters through creative storytelling and imagination development. Students learn how to build a story and practice fundamental acting skills such as eye contact, stage presence, and public speaking.
Every famous actor starts their career with an audition. Whether you’re preparing for CAPA, college, or professional theatre auditions, or even Shakes and Singers, this class will give you the confidence and know-how to give a memorable audition. Learn what to wear, how to find local auditions, and what to expect at an audition. Most importantly, find and practice your audition pieces for your fellow classmates.
Scene and Monologue Competition
Students will put skills learned in previous classes to the test. Participants in this class will have the option to compete in the Shakespeare Scene and Monologue Contest and/or the August Wilson Monologue Contest.
